Cesium Sulfate

Cesium Sulfate, a Cesium salt of Sulfate, is a chemical, whose molecular formula is Cs2SO4, and its molecular weight is 361.8735.

Cesium Sulfate is white acicular crystal, soluble in water. It is often used as analytical reagent for trace analysis of lead and trivalent chromium.

Cesium Sulfate (Cesium Sulfate) is a colorless rhombic or white needlelike crystal, with a density of 4.24g/mL (25℃), melting point of 1019℃, and boiling point of 1900℃. Soluble in water, water solubility: 64.1% at 20℃, 68.80% at 100℃, almost insoluble in ethanol, acetone and pyridine. Stimulating.

Production methods

1. Dissolve Cesium carbonate in water, heat and stir continuously. In order to prevent the solution from overflowing, add sulfuric acid with density of 1.84 in small amounts  by several times for the reaction: stop heating when no longer escaping and the pH of the solution is 3. Boil for 20min, adjust pH value to neutral with cesium hydroxide, filter, evaporate and concentrate the filtrate until precipitation of a large number of crystals, cool to room temperature, then filter, absorb and dry.

2. Dissolve cesium carbonate in water to make a saturated solution, and add the solution slowly to dilute sulfuric acid with a concentration of 20% until the solution becomes slightly alkaline. Heat the solution to boiling and filter it for removing insoluble matter. Acidize the filtrate with sulfuric acid to a weak acid, then evaporated and concentrated, until precipitation of a considerable amount of crystal, then cooled, then drained, and finally dried at 70 ~ 100℃.

Usage instructions

1. Used as analytical reagent for microanalysis of lead and trivalent chromium;

2, can be used for wine industry, mineral water;

3, can be used as a catalyst assistant: together with metal vanadium or vanadium pentoxide as a catalyst for sulfur dioxide oxidation.

4. As a liquid medium, the density gradient of the ultra-speed centrifuge is generated.

Storage transport

The warehouse is ventilated and dry at low temperature.
